PLANNING AND ZONING

The Planning and Economic Development Department provides professional assistance to the Town Council, community partners, advisory boards and citizens to responsibly manage land use and development, while considering the implications growth on public safety, community aesthetics, and economics.

The Planning and Economic Development Director is responsible for administrative and professional work in planning, organizing ad performing the activities of the department, including but not limited to, current and long-range community planning, administration and enforcement of various land use regulations (zoning, subdivision, flood plain management, storm water, minimum housing, public nuisances), and economic development work.

The department also assists citizens, brokers, developers, surveyors, etc., with various land use applications for regulatory review such as, but not limited to, zoning permits, special use permits, variances, and ordinance text amendments.

BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES

CODE ENFORCEMENT

Code enforcement staff performs inspections and work to ensure compliance with the Town of Selma’s Municipal Code in the areas of abandoned, nuisance and junked motor vehicles, community appearance, zoning, public nuisances, etc.

UTILITY SERVICES

The Town of Selma provides electric, water, and sewer services to residents, businesses, and industries.  Residential customers are also provided garbage pickup.

Locally owned and operated, these public utilities provide local families, businesses, and industries with safe and reliable public services at a reasonable price.  Our employees are the neighbors of the people that we serve; we stand ready to help customers with problems or questions.

Rates and policies are set by the Selma Town Council.  Revenues from the utilities maintain our utility systems and help our community.

Basic Rates and Usage
