We provide learning opportunities for our community to be successful in a well-organized, pleasant environment that is conducive to both serious study and casual use. We have established guidelines for all patrons and visitors. These guidelines call for courteous and respectful behavior by all persons in the library at all times. Offensive and disruptive behavior is not permitted. You may ask any member of the Library Staff for a complete list of our general behavior policies, our safe child policy, and our general policies and procedures. Any person who violates the established policies of the Selma Public Library may lose certain library privileges and/or be asked to leave the facility.
A library catalog is a register of all bibliographic items found in a library or group of libraries, such as a network of libraries at several locations. Search the library catalog, renew books, and place holds from home.

Even though the COVID-19 outbreak has interrupted our storytime together, please be sure to Read to your Mom and Dad. They love it and the stories are endless! Contact us for new and exciting books to check out.
Every Tuesday and Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m. in the Suber Room
We would like to invite you to participate in our summer reading program by signing up to read books and earn charms for a necklace. You may call the library to sign up and place an order for your first books to read. We will call you when your books are ready to pick up and will have your summer reading bag ready for you as well. Hopefully, you will be able to enter the library and choose your own books before the summer is over. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have presenters come to the library this year. However, we are going to be able to offer you a virtual Science Tellers experience this summer.
We would like to invite you to put your creative minds to work and decorate a pumpkin. We ask that you not carve your pumpkin, but rather use your imagination to create the scariest, funniest, prettiest, or most unique pumpkin possible with materials of your choice.
Please bring your decorated pumpkin to the library on Monday, October 19, 2020, where it will be on display for the entire week. Pumpkins will be judged according to the following categories: children 5-8, youth 9-12, teens 13-18, and adults. Winners will be announced at the Selma Parks and Recreation Annual Trunk or Treat Junction on Monday, October 26, 2020. You may pick up your pumpkin starting Tuesday, October 27th.
Movie Nights will resume soon. Please check back.
Join us every Monday at 9:30 a.m. for a coupon exchange. Bring your unused coupons and exchange them with other people in the group. Any donated coupons are greatly appreciated.
We will have tables set up in the community room for anyone who wants to play, and two whole bookcases full of games to get you started!
Board games are fun! They teach important social skills at any age, such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying interaction with others. Board games foster the ability to focus, and lengthen your attention span by encouraging the completion of an exciting, enjoyable game.
The Good Reads Book Club meets the second Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Members will be discussing a new book every month. New members are always welcome.
