Athletics

The Recreation Department sponsors a wide range of youth, adult, and senior athletic programs throughout the year.

Youth Athletics

The Selma Parks and Recreation department offers numerous opportunities for our youth to get active and fit by participating in sports. Year-round, there’s something for everyone. These programs will help provide a fun and exciting way to cultivate a child’s physical and mental development. Team sports are particularly beneficial in teaching children how to operate in a group dynamic and positively participate with others. For more information on the individual sports throughout the year, click on the specific sport you wish to inquire more about.

Coaching – We can’t operate without you!

Make a difference in the life of a child and volunteer to coach. Our goal is to develop a foundation based on support, encouragement, and skill development. Coaches will receive training and materials so that even the first-time coach will be ready to get out on the field. We will help you apply those techniques to make sure you and your players have a satisfying experience. All volunteers are required to complete a basic volunteer application form and pass a background check before being allowed to be a part of our coaching staff.
